Description:   Two vulnerabilities were reported in FreeType. A remote user can cause the target application to crash or hang. A local user can obtain potentially sensitive information.

A local user can create a specially crafted FreeType font that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a memory initialization error and disclose potentially sensitive information on the target system. The vulnerability resides in 'src/cid/cidload.c', 'src/psaux/psobjs.c', 'src/type1/t1load.c', 'src/type42/t42parse.c'.

A remote user can create a specially crafted FreeType font that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a flaw in the parse_encode() function in 'src/type1/t1load.c' and cause the target application to enter an infinite loop.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the target application to crash or hang.

A local user can obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system.

Solution:   The vendor has issued source code fixes [in January 2014 and February 2014, respectively], available at:
