Description:   A vulnerability was reported in PowerDNS Authoritative Server. A remote user can cause the target service to crash.

A remote user can send specially crafted DNS packets to trigger a flaw in the DNS parsing code to cause the target service to crash.

Pyry Hakulinen and Ashish Shakla at Automattic reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the target service to crash.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (3.4.6).
