Description:   A vulnerability was reported in some dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) devices. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system. Lenovo PCs are affected.

A local user can run a program that repeatedly accesses a row of memory to cause bits in adjacent rows to flip. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary code on the target system with kernel-level privileges.

Double data rate type 3 (DDR3) DRAM components from multiple vendors are affected.

This vulnerability is known as the DRAM "Rowhammer" vulnerability.

Mark Seaborn and Thomas Dullien reported this vulnerability via Google Project Zero.

Impact:   A local user can obtain kernel level privileges on the target system.
Solution:   Lenovo has issued a fix for Lenovo PCs.
