Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Foxit Reader. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.

A remote user can create a specially crafted PNG file that, when converted to a PDF file by the target user, will trigger a buffer overflow in the PDF creator plugin (ConvertToPDF_x86.dll) and execute arbitrary code on the target user's system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.

Foxit PhantomPDF is also affected.

The vendor was notified on July 8, 2015.

Impact:   A remote user can create content that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (7.2).
