Description:   A vulnerability was reported in EMC Avamar. A remote user can view files on the target system.

The system, when used with Avamar Desktop/Laptop client, does not properly validate user-supplied input. A remote user can supply a request with specially crafted parameter values via the Avamar Desktop/Laptop client interface to view arbitrary files on the target system.

EMC Avamar Virtual Addition (AVE) is also affected.

Kristian Erik Hermansen at Undisclosed Ventures reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can view arbitrary files on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (7.1.2; Advisory ESA-2015-118).
