Description:   Several vulnerabilities were reported in IBM DB2. A local user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system. A remote user can execute arbitrary commands on the target system. A local user can obtain root privileges on the target system.

A local user can execute arbitrary commands on the target system with root privileges [CVE-2015-0197].

A local user can issue specially crafted IOCTL calls to a character device in the mmfslinux kernel module and cause memory corruption errors [CVE-2015-0199]. As a result, denial of service conditions may occur.

The system does not properly authenticate network requests. A remote user can send specially crafted data to execute arbitrary programs on the target system with root privileges [CVE-2015-0198].

These vulnerabilities reside in the IBM General Parallel File System.

Florian Grunow and Felix Wilhelm of ERNW reported these vulnerabilities.

Impact:   A local user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system.

A local user can obtain root privileges on the target system.

A remote user can execute arbitrary commands on the target system with root privileges.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
