Description:   A vulnerability was reported in EMC RecoverPoint for VMs. A local user can obtain root privileges on the target system.

A local user can bypass security restrictions in the restricted Installation Manager (Boxmgmt CLI) interface to execute arbitrary shell commands on the target system with root privileges.

An anonymous researcher (via Beyond Security's SecuriTeam Secure Disclosure program) reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user can obtain root privileges on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (RecoverPoint for VMs 4.3).
