Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Juniper Junos. A remote user can cause the target service to crash. A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.

A remote user can send a specially crafted Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD) packet to cause the target BFD daemon (bfdd) to crash and restart or potentially execute arbitrary code.

Interfaces are affected even if PFD is not enabled on the interface.

The vendor has assigned PR 1004482 to this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the target BFD service to crash.

A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (12.1X44-D50, 12.1X46-D35, 12.1X47-D25, 12.3R10, 12.3X48-D15, 13.2R8, 13.3R6, 14.1R5, 14.1X50-D85, 14.1X55-D20, 14.2R3, 15.1R1, 15.1X49-D10).
