Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Juniper Junos. A local user can obtain root privileges on the target system.

The 'set system ports console insecure' feature does not properly prevent unprivileged users from performing password recovery via the console. A physically local user can access the console port to gain full administrative privileges.

Only SRX Series services gateways are affected.

The vendor has assigned PR 1016488 to this vulnerability.

Impact:   A physically local user can obtain root privileges on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (12.1X46-D35, 12.1X47-D25, 12.3X48-D15).
