Description:   Multiple vulnerabilities were reported in IBM Tivoli Storage Manager FastBack. A remote user can cause the target service to crash. A remote user can modify files on the target system. A remote user can execute arbitrary commands on the target system. A remote user can obtain files on the target system.

A remote user can send specially crafted data to trigger a buffer overflow and cause the target server to crash [CVE-2015-1923, CVE-2015-1924, CVE-2015-1925, CVE-2015-1929, CVE-2015-1930, CVE-2015-1948, CVE-2015-1953, CVE-2015-1954, CVE-2015-1962, CVE-2015-1963, CVE-2015-1964, CVE-2015-1962].

A remote user can send specially crafted data to execute arbitrary commands on the target system [CVE-2015-1938, CVE-2015-1986].

A remote user can send specially crafted data to a specific TCP port to obtain arbitrary files on the target system [CVE-2015-1941].

A remote user can send specially crafted data to a specific TCP port to write and execute a file on the target system [CVE-2015-1942].

A remote user can send specially crafted data to execute arbitrary commands with system level privileges on the target system [CVE-2015-1949].

Lola Montez (via VeriSign iDefense Labs and HP's Zero Day Initiative) and Brian Gorenc (via HP's Zero Day Initiative) reported these vulnerabilities.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the target service to crash.

A remote authenticated user can modify files on the target system.

A remote user can execute arbitrary commands on the target system.

A remote user can obtain files on the target system.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (6.1.12).
