Description:   A vulnerability was reported in unattended-upgrades. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target system.

On systems with the 'force-confold' or 'force-confnew' dpkg options enabled via the DPkg::Options::* apt configuration, the system does not properly authenticate downloaded package files. A remote user that can conduct a man-in-the-middle attack can modify package files to cause the target system to execute arbitrary code.

Impact:   A remote user that can conduct a man-in-the-middle attack can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target system.
Solution:   Ubuntu has issued a fix.
