Description:   A vulnerability reported in Xen. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system. A local user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system. A local user can access arbitrary files on the target system. Citrix XenServer is affected.

A local user on a guest system can write to the PCI config space of passed-through PCI devices.

The specific impact depends on how the system uses the config space, but may include privilege escalation, information disclosure, and denial of service.

x86 systems are affected. ARM systems are not affected.

HVM guests with their device model run in Dom0 and with access granted to physical PCI devices can trigger this flaw.

Jan Beulich of SUSE reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user on the guest system may be able to obtain potentially sensitive information, obtain elevated privileges, or cause denial of service conditions on the target host system.
Solution:   Citrix has issued a fix for Citrix XenServer.
