Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Xen. A local user on the guest system can cause denial of service conditions on the target host system. QEMU is affected.

A local user on a guest system can invoke certain operations to cause the PCI MXI-X interrupt management logging code to fill up the host disk.

x86 systems are affected. ARM systems are not affected.

HVM guests with their device model run in Dom0 and with access granted to physical MSI-X capable PCI devices can trigger this flaw.

Jan Beulich of SUSE reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user on the guest system can cause the host to consume excessive disk space.
Solution:   Ubuntu has issued a fix for QEMU.
