Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Xen. A local user on a guest system can cause denial of service conditions on the target host system.

A local user on a guest system can set PCI MSI mask bits to cause the hypervisor to suppress interrupt delivery and potentially cause the host system to crash.

x86 systems are affected. ARM systems are not affected.

HVM guests with their device model run in Dom0 and granted access to physical MSI-capable PCI devices can exploit this flaw.

Jan Beulich of SUSE reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user on a guest system can cause denial of service conditions on the target host system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (xsa129-qemuu.patch, xsa129-qemuu-4.3.patch, xsa129-qemut.patch).
