Description:   A vulnerability was reported in phpMyAdmin. A remote user can bypass certificate validation on the target system.

A remote user with the ability to conduct a man-in-the-middle attack can bypass certificate validation on an API call to Github to obtain or modify potentially sensitive information.

Maksymilian Arciemowicz of cxsecurity.com reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can obtain or modify potentially sensitive information.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (4.0.10.10, 4.2.13.3, 4.3.13.1, 4.4.6.1).
