Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Glibc. A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.

A remote user can send a specially crafted DNS response to trigger a buffer overflow in getanswer_r() and potentially execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target application or service.

The vulnerability resides in '/resolv/nss_dns/dns-host.c'.

Arjun Shankar of Red Hat reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a source code fix, available at:
