Description:   A vulnerability was reported in the Linux kernel. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system. A remote user may be able to execute arbitrary code.

A remote user can send specially crafted data to trigger a use-after-free memory corruption error in the sctp_assoc_update() function in 'net/sctp/associola.c' and cause denial of service conditions or potentially execute arbitrary code.

Sun Baoliang of Red Hat reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote user may be able to execute arbitrary code.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (3.18.8) [in February 2015].
