Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Xen. A local user on the can cause denial of service conditions.

A local user on a guest operating system can write to the 'GICD.SGIR' register in the virtual interrupt controller to cause the host system to crash.

ARM-based systems using version 2 of the generic interrupt controller are affected.

x86-based systems are not affected.

Julien Grall reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user on the guest system can cause the host system to crash.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (xsa117.patch).
