Description:   Two vulnerabilities were reported in Symantec Encryption Management Server. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system. A remote user can inject arbitrary email headers.

A local administrative user can supply specially crafted command line input when requesting a database backup to gain elevated privileges on the target system [CVE-2014-7288].

Paul Craig of VantagePoint reported this vulnerability.

A remote user can supply a specially crafted UID value to exploit an input validation flaw in the key management component when uploading a PGP public key to inject arbitrary email headers in the receipt email that the server generates [CVE-2014-7287].

Klaus Eisentraut (via SySS GmbH) reported this vulnerability.


Impact:   A local administrative user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.

A remote user can inject arbitrary email headers.

Solution:   The vendor has issue a fix (3.3.2 MP7).
