Description:   A vulnerability was reported in the Microsoft Windows telnet server. A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.

A remote user can send specially crafted data to trigger a buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target service.

On Windows Server 2003, telnet is installed but not enabled by default.

Daiyuu Nobor and Christopher Hiroshi Higuchi SMITH of the University of Tsukuba reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
