Description:   A vulnerability was reported in EMC Replication Manager. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.

Some Windows registry service paths may contain unquoted entries. A local user can exploit this to execute arbitrary programs with elevated privileges.

EMC AppSync is also affected (versions prior to 2.1.0).

Impact:   A local user can execute arbitrary programs with elevated privileges.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (5.5.2; Advisory ESA-2014-179).
