Description:   A vulnerability was reported in PowerDNS. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote user can send queries for domains that are in certain configurations (e.g., with difficult to resolve domain names) to cause degraded service on the target system.

Only remote users listed as 'allow-from' clients can trigger the flaw.

Florian Maury of ANSSI reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause performance degradation on the target service.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (3.6.2).
