Description:   A vulnerability was reported in sysklogd. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

On systems configured with remote reception, a remote user can send specially crafted priority values to cause various errors, including message mis-classification, forwarding issues, and message loss.

rsyslogd is also affected.

Rainer Gerhards reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause unexpected behavior on the target daemon.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (1.5.1).
