Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Cisco IOS. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote user can send specially crafted multicast Domain Name System (mDNS) packets to the target device to trigger a memory leak and cause an interface queue wedge or cause the target device to reload [CVE-2014-3358]. Specially crafted UDP packets sent via IPv4 or IPv6 on port 5353 to the unicast address of any interface configured on a device, IPv4 multicast address 224.0.0.251, or IPv6 multicast address FF02::FB can trigger this flaw.

The vendor has assigned bug ID CSCuj58950 to this vulnerability.

A remote user can send specially crafted mDNS packets to the target device to trigger an input validation flaw and cause the target device to reload [CVE-2014-3357]. Specially crafted UDP packets sent via IPv4 or IPv6 on port 5353 to the unicast address of any interface configured on a device, IPv4 multicast address 224.0.0.251, or IPv6 multicast address FF02::FB can trigger this flaw.

The vendor has assigned bug ID CSCul90866 to this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the target device to reload.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
