Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Netscape Portable Runtime (NSPR) API. A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.

A remote user can send specially crafted data to trigger a buffer overflow and potentially execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The specific impact depends on the application using the vulnerable API.

[Editor's note: The vendor reports that this flaw is not exploited via web content on Mozilla Firefox.]

Abhishek Arya (Inferno) of the Google Chrome Security Team reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (4.10.6).
