Description:   A vulnerability was reported in IBM WebSphere MQ. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote user can send specially crafted data to create failure data capture (FDC) files to fill all available disk space or cause the target inetd service to enter an infinite loop and consume all available CPU resources.

Systems using the TCP listener (inetd) on UNIX and IBM i platforms are affected.

Systems using the MQ listener (runmqlsr) are not affected.

Impact:   A remote user can consume excessive file system disk space or CPU resources.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.

For 7.1.x: fix pack, or and the interim fix for APAR IV55886

For 7.5.x: fix pack, or and the interim fix for APAR IV55886
