Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Xen. A local user on the guest operating system can cause denial of service conditions on other guests or on the host system.

The system does not context switch the CNTKCTL_EL1 register. A local user on a guest operating system can exploit this and reconfigure CNTKCTL_EL1 to block userspace access to the timer hardware for arbitrary domains. This may cause the target guest system to crash.

ARM systems are affected.

x86 systems are not affected.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (xsa91-4.4.patch; Advisory XSA-91).
