Description:   A vulnerability was reported in OpenSSL. A local user can obtain Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA) nonces.

A local user can exploit a timing flaw in the Montgomery ladder implementation during swap operations to perform a FLUSH+RELOAD cache side-channel attack and potentially recover ECDSA nonces.

Yuval Yarom and Naomi Benger reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user can recover ECDSA nonces.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (0.9.8za, 1.0.0m, 1.0.1g).
