Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Net-snmp. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote user can send specially crafted ICMP messages to trigger a buffer overflow in the decode_icmp_msg() function when processing the '/proc/net/snmp' file and cause the target snmpd service to crash.

Only Linux-based systems are affected.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the target snmpd service to crash.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a source code fix, available at:
