Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Microsoft Forefront Protection for Exchange. A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.

A remote user can send a specially crafted email message to a target system that is monitored by Microsoft Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange to trigger a parsing flaw and cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target system when the email message is scanned. The code will run with the privileges of the configured service account.


Impact:   A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued the following fix:
