Description:   A vulnerability was reported in FreeBSD. A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive information. McAfee Firewall Enterprise is affected.

When the kernel initializes the SCTP state cookie for INIT-ACK chunks, a buffer allocated from the kernel stack is not properly initialized. As a result, fragments of kernel memory may be transmitted within SCTP packets over the network.

Julian Seward and Michael Tuexen reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive information from kernel memory.
Solution:   McAfee has issued a fix for McAfee Firewall Enterprise (8.3.1P04).
