Description:   A vulnerability was reported in VMware vCenter Server. A remote authenticated user can conduct session fixation attacks.

A remote authenticated user with knowledge of a valid session ID can conduct a session fixation attack to gain access as the target user.

The vulnerability resides in the vSphere Web Client Server component.

Alexey Tyurin of DSecRG reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote authenticated user can gain access to the system acting as the target user.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (5.0 Update 3).
