Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Juniper Junos. A remote authenticated user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote authenticated user can send a large number of specially crafted IPv4 or IPv6 PIM join messages to cause the target RPD routing daemon to crash.

Systems configured for a Next-Generation Multicast VPN (NGEN MVPN) environment are affected.

The vendor has assigned PR 669783 to this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote authenticated user can cause the target routing service to crash and restart.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (releases built on or after 2012-09-27, including: 10.0S28, 10.4R7, 11.1R5, 11.2R2, 11.4R1, and all subsequent releases).
