Description:   A vulnerability was reported in McAfee Managed Agent. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote user can send specially crafted data to the target McAfee Framework Service (FrameworkService.exe) on TCP port 8081 to cause the target service to crash.

Rodney Beede from www.rodneybeede.com reported this vulnerability via US-CERT.

[Editor's note: The US-CERT report indicates that Windows-based installations are affected.]

Impact:   A remote user can cause the target service to crash.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (4.5.0.1927 Patch 3 Hotfix HF910062, 4.6.0.3258 Patch 3 Hotfix HF910062, 4.8.0).
