Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Apache Struts. A remote user can execute arbitrary commands on the target system. A remote user can conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

The system does not properly filter the 'includeParams' attribute. A remote user can supply a specially crafted request to inject arbitrary OGNL code and bypass Struts and OGNL library protections.

This can also be exploited to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

[Editor's note: The original vulnerability was assigned CVE-2013-1966 and was incorrectly fixed. The incorrect fix was assigned CVE-2013-2115.]

Eric Kobrin and Douglas Rodrigues (Akamai), Coverity Security Research Laboratory, and the NSFOCUS Security Team reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can execute arbitrary commands on the target system.

A remote user can access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site running the Struts software, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.
