Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Cisco Intrusion Prevention System (IPS). A remote authenticated user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote authenticated user can invoke certain operations to trigger a flaw in the regex processing hardware and cause the target device to become unresponsive.

Cisco has assigned Cisco Bug ID CSCuc74630 to this vulnerability.

The following operations are affected:

Initiate signature upgrade
Initiate global correlation
Run show statistics anomaly-detection command
Run clear database command

Impact:   A remote authenticated user can cause the target device to become unresponsive.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
