Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Autonomy KeyView IDOL. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target system. Symantec Mail Security is affected.

A remote user can create a specially crafted file that, when processed by the target Autonomy KeyView IDOL library, will trigger a buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target application using the parsing library.

The specific impact depends on the application that uses the parsing library.

Impact:   A remote user can create a file that, when loaded by the target library, will execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Solution:   Symantec has issued a fix for Symantec Mail Security.

A fix is available for Symantec Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange (SMSMSE).

A workaround is available for Symantec Mail Security for Domino (SMSDOM).
