Fix Available:  Yes  Vendor Confirmed:  Yes
Version(s): prior to 6 Update 35 and 7 Update 7
Description:   Two vulnerabilities were reported in Oracle Java. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.

A remote user can create specially crafted content that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system [CVE-2012-1682, CVE-2012-3136]. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.

The Java Beans component is affected.

Standalone Java desktop applications or Java running on servers are not affected.

Impact:   A remote user can create Java content that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (6 Update 35, 7 Update 7).

[Editor's note: CVE-2012-0547 is assigned to a security defense-in-depth update and not a vulnerability, but is included in this Alert for reference purposes.]
