Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Clam AntiVirus. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote user can create a file containing a specially crafted hash signature that, when processed by Clam AntiVirus, will trigger an off-by-one error and cause the 'clamscan' antivirus service to crash.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the clamscan process to crash.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a source code fix, available at:;a=commit;h=4842733eb3f09be61caeed83778bb6679141dbc5

The vendor plans to include the fix in version 0.97.2.
