Description:   A vulnerability was reported in BlackBerry Enterprise Server. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions. A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive information.

A remote user can exploit a flaw in the BlackBerry Administration API to read files containing only printable characters that reside on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server with the privileges of the BlackBerry Administration API component.

A remote user can exploit this flaw to consume excessive resources on the target system.

The following versions are affected:

BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0.0 for Microsoft Exchange, IBM Lotus Domino and Novell GroupWise (with the BlackBerry Administration API component installed as an option only)
BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express 5.0.0 for Microsoft Exchange and IBM Lotus Domino (with the BlackBerry Administration API component installed as an option only)
BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express versions 5.0.1, 5.0.2 and 5.0.3 for Microsoft Exchange
BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express versions 5.0.2 and 5.0.3 for IBM Lotus Domino
BlackBerry Enterprise Server versions 5.0.1, 5.0.2 and 5.0.3 for Microsoft Exchange and IBM Lotus Domino
BlackBerry Enterprise Server versions 5.0.1 for GroupWise

Impact:   A remote user can consume excessive resource on the target system.

A remote user can view certain printable files on the target system.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
