Description:   A vulnerability was reported in OpenVMS Record Management Services. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.

Certain Record Management Services (RMS) patch kits for HP OpenVMS running on ALPHA platforms are affected.

Impact:   A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (install patch kit VMS83A_RMS-V1100 if either RMS_V1000 or UPDATE_V1100 are installed).

The fix is also included in VMS83A_UPDATE-V1200.
