Description:   Two vulnerabilities were reported in Windows Media Format Runtime. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.

A remote user can create an ASF file with specially crafted headers that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a memory free error and execute arbitrary code on the target system [CVE-2009-2498]. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.

Peter Winter-Smith of NGS Software reported this vulnerability.

A remote user can create an MP3 file with specially crafted metadata that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a memory corruption error and execute arbitrary code on the target system [CVE-2009-2499]. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.

Hiroshi Noguchi of Alice Carroll fan club reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can create a file that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.
