Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Symantec Enterprise Firewall. A remote user can determine valid usernames.

When configured for remote access client-to-gateway VPNs using pre-shared key (PSK) authentication, the firewall responds differently to login attempts with valid usernames than to attempts with invalid usernames. A remote user can exploit this to determine if a specified username is valid or not.

Roy Hill of NTA Monitor Ltd reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can determine valid usernames.
Solution:   The vendor has described a workaround in their advisory.
