Version(s): prior to 9.20
Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Opera. A remote user can conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

A specially crafted page that uses the UTF-7 character encoding can include a different site within an iframe, where the different site may inherit the UTF-7 encoding. A remote user can exploit this by creating specially crafted HTML that, when loaded by a target user, will cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the target user's browser. The code may be able to access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the target site, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.

The vendor credits Stefan Esser with reporting this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user may be able to access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with certain sites, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fixed version (9.20).
