Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) Web Server. A remote authenticated user with Active Server Pages (ASP) upload privileges can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.

A remote authenticated user can create a specially crafted ASP page. When the page is loaded by the web server, a buffer overflow will be triggered and arbitrary code will be executed on the target system. The remote user can take full control of the target system.

Microsoft credits Brett Moore of Security-Assessment.com with reporting this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote authenticated user can create an ASP page that, when loaded by the target system, will execute arbitrary code on the target system.

On July 19, 2006 (GMT), Microsoft indicated that they have fixed some installation issues with this update. Windows Server 2003 SP1 users that installed the update while IIS was using the 'ASP.dll' file may not have received the fix and should re-run detection to make sure that their systems have updated properly.
