A vulnerability was reported in Winamp. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target system.|
A remote user can create a specially crafted '.m3u' file that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.
The vulnerability occurs when the target user pauses or stops the file and the title of the program being played is reset, triggering a buffer overflow.
The vendor was notified on February 13, 2006.

Winamp is a popular media player that supports various media formats and=20

NSFocus Security Team discovered a buffer overflow vulnerability when Winam=
processes .m3u files, which might cause Winamp to crash or even execute=20

Winamp can play files by loading .m3u file. When the playing is paused or s=

Remote code execution is possible but difficult.
