Description:
A vulnerability was reported in the Windows Media Player plug-in for non-Microsoft browsers. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.
A remote user can create HTML with a specially crafted EMBED element that, when loaded by the target user with a non-Microsoft browser, will load the plug-in and trigger a buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.
The vendor credits John Cobb of iDefense with reporting this vulnerability.
