Description:   A vulnerability was reported in IBM's AIX operating system. A local user can gain root privileges.

A local user can exploit a buffer overflow in the getconf command to execute arbitrary code with root privileges.

Impact:   A local user can execute arbitrary code with root privileges.
Solution:   The vendor has issued the following fixes:

APAR number for AIX 5.2.0: IY73850 (available)
APAR number for AIX 5.3.0: IY73814 (available)
