Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Microsoft Windows in the Microsoft Color Management Module. A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The software does not properly validate International Color Consortium (ICC) profile format tags. A remote user can create a specially crafted image file that, when viewed by the target user (via a web page or e-mail, for example), will trigger a buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.

The vendor credits Shih-hao Weng of the Information & Communication Security Technology Center (ICST) with reporting this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system with the privileges of the target user.
