Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Cyrus IMAP Server in the mysasl_canon_user() function. A remote user may be able to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vendor reported an off-by-one error in the mysasl_canon_user() function that may result in an unterminated user name string. A remote user may be able to trigger the buffer overflow to execute arbitrary code on the target system with the privileges of the target IMAP process.

Impact:   A remote user may be able to execute arbitrary code on the target system with the privileges of the target IMAP service.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fixed version (2.2.10), available at:
